GOLDEN Fluid Acrylics Offer Great Versatility

  1. Are Golden Fluid Acrylics suitable for plastic surfaces? Is there a surface preparation required? Can I get a color chart and information emailed to me?

    Thank you.

    • Hello William.

First, sorry for the long delay in response! Painting with acrylics onto plastic is possible, but in some cases a primer may be necessary. Not all plastics accept acrylic paint the same. Here’s an article that was written about the subject: https://justpaint.org/acrylics-on-plastics/

We’d be happy to send you an information packet with hand painted color charts and product literature, just send your mailing address to help@goldenpaints.com and we’ll get them right out to you!

  2. I read several articles that include frisket and masking in discussion but you never say what tape and frisket products work best. I sure would like to know this.

  3. Do these paints work well with acrylic dirty pour on canvas?
If so, do you mix them with the flow trol or some thing else.
If water do you use distilled water or regular water?

    • Hello Karen,
The Fluid Acrylics can be mixed with our Color Pouring Medium Gloss or Matte to do dirty pours or most other pouring techniques. You should be able to mix about 1 part Fluid Acrylic to about 10 parts Pouring Medium for nice saturated color. Additions of too much water can reduce the viscosity of the Pouring Medium products and may result in crazing. Fluid Acrylics are also thin enough to squirt onto a surface and knife around. They can also be thinned with water (regular or distilled) and poured onto a surface, but this will likely result in some crazing. Just to clarify, here is an article defining the difference between crazing and cracking: https://justpaint.org/defining-the-difference-between-a-crack-and-a-craze/

      We hope this helps!
      Greg
